The Name Of The Lord is a strong tower:
the righteous runneth into it, and is safe.
Proverbs 18:10 KJV

Jehovah Nissi
The-Lord-Is-My-Banner

And Moses built an altar, and called the Name of it
Jehovah-Nissi:
For he said, Because the Lord hath sworn that the Lord will have war with Amalek from generation to generation.
Exodus 17:15-16 KJV

“JEHOVAH NISSI” means "The-LORD-Is-My-Banner." This we have come to note from the expression in the NIV Bible:
Moses built an altar and called it The Lord is my Banner (v. 15 NIV).
By this Name, GOD is honored for the defeat of the Amalekites, even as the altar Moses built for The LORD, was given this Name.
Right from the ancient times, banners were set up as standards of monarchs, knights and armies of kingdoms, nations and governments.
Here are words expressed in the English thesaurus for the word, banner: sign, symbol, emblem, insignia, badge et cetera.

The Amalekites attacked Israel in Rephidim.
But, just as the effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much (James 5:16), even so did Israel prevail over the Amalekites as Moses held his hands with the rod of God up high to The LORD (Ex. 17:11-13).
The LORD said to Moses, “Write this for a memorial in a book, and rehearse it in the ears of Joshua: for I will utterly put out the remembrance of Amalek from under Heaven” (v.14). And in verse 16, after Moses built an altar unto The LORD, he said:
"…For hands were lifted up to the Throne of the Lord. The Lord will be at war against the Amalekites from generation to generation."

In the days of Prophet Samuel, The LORD commanded an attack on the Amalekites, to put to death their men and women, children and infants, cattle and sheep, camels and donkeys, because they waylaid the Israelites as they came up from Egypt, but tragically, King Saul incompletely obeyed this (I Samuel 15:2-3).

The LORD is “the Banner” of the righteous—His Name is a banner for His people; by His NAME, we have our identity in GOD’s Family and Kingdom. He has assigned His Name to those who fear and trust Him.
Thou hast given a banner to them that fear Thee, that it may be displayed because of the Truth. Selah.
Psa 60:4 KJV

THE NAME OF THE LORD is a Banner for us; a standard displayed because of the Truth. His NAME is “Adonai Nissi.”
His banner over us is LOVE (SOS.2:4). His LOVE waves as a protecting and comforting banner over our heads as we abide in Him.

In the Millennial Reign of Christ and in His Eternal Sovereignty, the nations will resort to Him; for He will stand as a “signal” for His peoples, and His Resting Place will be glorious (read Isaiah 11:1-10).
