The
Image of the Beast
“The
image of the beast” is patterned after “the beast.” It is designed to look like
“the beast,” ‘talk like the beast’ and ‘act like the beast.”
“…that they should
make an image to the beast…”
“…he had power to give
life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both
speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast
should be killed” (Rev.13:14-15).
“The
children of GOD” are made in “the Image of GOD.” We are made in the divine
nature of GOD. His nature is to love, and through
love, to give. He so loved the world that He gave the world His best—His Only Begotten
Son. That is the highest expression of His nature, and likewise the highest
expression of who He created us to be.
The Image of the Beast
“The image of the beast” is the idol of the beast—a robot made of artificial intelligence (AI)
which will cause that as many as would not worship “the image of the beast”
should be killed.
And deceiveth them
that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do
in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they
should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did
live.
And he had power to
give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both
speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast
should be killed.
Revelation 13:14-15
In this passage we clearly see that “the false
prophet of the antichrist” will deceive many people in the world by the means
of his diabolical miracles which he will do on behalf of “the beast”— while
this is ongoing, he will issue a command to setup “the image of the beast” (‘the
idol of the beast’).
“The image of
the beast” will be unknown to many as ‘the
idol of the beast’—firstly, because this will be one of the manifestations
of ‘the working of satan’ in the earth in these last days. Secondly, “the image
of the beast” will simply be seen by many as a robot made of artificial
intelligence (AI), which it is; though complex but with visual appearances over
the internet and the media.
In this passage, we also see that the beast’s false
prophet was given ‘power to give life unto “the image of the beast,” that it
should both speak and cause that as many as would not worship “the image of the
beast” should be killed.
“The
image of the beast” will be a complicated robot—an
almost human robot.
The quest for superintelligence:
Recently, an animatronic robot named
"Sophia" made its way across late night stages, published on the
cover of magazines, headlined major tech conferences and even delivered a
speech to the United Nations.
CNBC reported that Sophia, was touted as
the future of AI, but it may be more of a social experiment masquerading as a
PR stunt.
David Hanson, the founder and CEO of
Hanson Robotics, is its creator—but he hasn't always been a major figure in the
AI world.
Hanson actually got a BFA in film. He
worked for Walt Disney as an "Imagineer," creating sculptures and
robotic technologies for theme parks and then getting his Ph.D. in aesthetic
studies. Back in 2005, he co-wrote a research paper that laid out his vision
for the future of robotics.
The eight-page report is called
"Upending the Uncanny Valley." It's Hanson's rebuke of the Uncanny
Valley theory that people won't like robots if they look very close to, but not
exactly like humans. In fact, the paper says "uncanny" robots can
actually help address the question of "what is human" and that
there's not much to lose by experimenting with humanoid robots.
When CNBC asked Hanson about it, he said
his company is exploring the "uncanny perception effects both
scientifically and artistically, using robots like Sophia."
Hanson is approaching Sophia with the
mindset that she is AI "in its infancy," with the next stage being
artificial general intelligence, or AGI, something humanity hasn't achieved
yet.
On the quest for
"superintelligence," Ben Goertzel, chief scientist at Hanson Robotics
said "from a software point of view you'd say Sophia is a platform, like a
laptop is a platform for something, you can run a lot of different software
programs on that very same robot."
Sophia has three different control
systems, according to Goertzel: Timeline Editor, Sophisticated Chat System and
OpenCog. Timeline Editor is basically a straight scripting software. The
Sophisticated Chat System allows Sophia to pick up on and respond to key words
and phrases. And OpenCog grounds Sophia's answers in experience and reasoning.
This is the system they're hoping to one day grow into AGI.
CNBC reports that in the grand scheme of
things, a sentient being, or AGI, is the goal of some developers. But nobody is
there yet. There's a host of players pushing the limits of what robots are capable
of. From Honda to Boston Dynamics, companies across the world are developing
AI-powered humanoid machines. Now, it's a race to see who will get there first.
The AI race seems to be unraveling along
the lines of Silicon Valley's "move fast and break things" mantra.
But after Facebook's scandal with Cambridge Analytica, the public is more aware
of the potential repercussions of hasty tech development.
"You know, there is this fantasy
behind creation that is embedding in the practice of engineering and robotics
and AI," said Kathleen Richardson, professor of ethics and culture of
robotics and AI at De Montfort University.
"I think it's sort of a
disappointment that with our advances in technology we have decided to develop
this kind of robust robot with many functions and emotions, and yet when we
shape her, she doesn't look too unlike the models we see on magazines and the
actresses we see in Hollywood," said Kim Jenkins, lecturer at Parsons
School of Design.
CNBC says “Sophia the robot has become a
cultural icon.”
Sophia's creators from Hanson Robotics
say they didn't expect it to take off as much as it did. But now, it's raising
questions about just how much thought goes into the potential negative
consequences of developing AI.
Manifestation of “the Working of Satan”
Just as ‘the working of satan’ will
manifest in the diabolical-healing of the ‘scar’ of “the beast” as seen in
Revelation 13:3-4, even so will “the image of the beast” be yet another
manifestation of ‘the working of satan’.
Take a proper look at the Bible’s revelation of both
diabolical mysteries in the same chapter.
Revelation 13:3-4
And I saw one of his
heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the
world wondered after the beast.
And they worshipped
the dragon which gave power unto the beast: and they worshipped the beast,
saying, Who is like unto the beast?
who is able to make
war with him?
Revelation 13:14-15
And deceiveth them
that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do
in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they
should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did
live.
And he had power to
give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both
speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast
should be killed.
You can see that the two diabolical-works demand
‘worship’.
The first one made the people to worship ‘the
dragon’ and ‘the beast’; the second one demands worship of “the image of the
beast.”
The both deceptions are for the deceivable of this
world!
Apostle John had a revelation of a multitude that
were victorious over the beast, and over
his image, and over his mark, and over the number of his name.
“And I saw as it were
a sea of glass mingled with fire: and them that had gotten the victory over the
beast, and over his image, and over his mark, and over the number of his name, stand
on the sea of glass, having the harps of God.
And they sing the song
of Moses the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying, Great and
marvellous are thy works, Lord God Almighty; just and true are thy ways, thou
King of saints.”
Revelation 15:2-3
Those who are beheaded for their witness
of Jesus, and for the Word of GOD, which had not worshipped the beast, neither
his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their
right hands; shall live again and shall reign with Christ Jesus for a thousand
years.
And I saw thrones, and
they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of
them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the Word of God, and
which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his
mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with
Christ a thousand years.
Revelation 20:4
Those who don’t have the seal of GOD will worship
the beast and his image.
And the smoke of their
torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night,
who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his
name.
Revelation 14:11
Summary
The mark of the beast is here!
A tiny chip implanted inside the human body to send
and receive radio messages have already been produced by US based companies,
and are already systematically in circulation in some parts of the world.
Some companies have already microchipped their employees
with tiny rice-sized microchips—embedded in their hands. Thousands of people
have been microchipped in Sweden.
In the past US government administration, just four
companies were approved to produce the microchips on which the global economy
depends.
The US Congress passed a bill to start putting RFID
Chips in Humans.
“The
mark of the beast” is equivalent to “the name of the beast,” and “the number of
his name”
“He cause all both
small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their
right hand or on their foreheads, and that no one may buy or sell except one
who has the mark or the name of the beast, or the number of his name” (Rev.
13:16, 17).
The world is
being prepared to receive the antichrist and his seal.
Those who
don't belong to Christ Jesus will worship the dragon, the beast, and the image
of the beast—they will receive the mark of the beast.
Isaiah 14:13 will be fulfilled in the person of the
antichrist.
For thou hast said in
thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars
of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the
north…”
The Bible tells us that "the man of sin"
will be revealed in his time.
And now ye know what
withholdeth that he might be revealed in his time.
For the mystery of
iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken
out of the way.
2 Thess. 2:6-7
Many Christians think that "the man of
sin"—“the antichrist” is yet to be revealed, but he has already been
revealed by GOD Almighty!
“The
man of sin” was revealed to the Church in the year 2009!
Let us be sober and watchful in prayer.
But the end of all
things is at hand: be ye therefore sober, and watch unto prayer (1 Pet. 4:7).
Tribulation
is coming on Christians and Israel. The
Great Tribulation will trouble the whole world—but the main focus of the
antichrist and his government is to persecute and wage war against the Church
and the Jewish people.
Only
those who have embraced the life of a bondservant will not take “the mark of
the beast.” There is no greater freedom that we
could ever know than being the Lord’s slave, nor is there anything more
fulfilling in life than when we put His interests first. He is the most
wonderful Master we could ever have, and He showed how great His Love for us is
by the price He paid—His own sacrifice on the cross.
It is written that the Lord knew us and formed us
before the foundation of the world, and His ultimate purpose that we become all
that He created us to be. However, as He taught, “For
whoever wishes to save his life will lose it; but whoever loses his life for My
sake will find it” (Matthew 16:25).
The Book of Revelation is clear that the time is
coming when anyone who will not take “the mark of the beast” will not be able
to buy, sell, and trade, but those who have become bondservants of the Lord
will not need to because they have the Lord as their Source. So the main thing we can do to prepare for
this time is grow in our trust in the Lord as our Provider.
This does not mean that we will not be called to do
some things in the natural, such as storing provisions, to prepare for these
times, but we will do these things out of faith, not fear. Above all, we must
learn the lesson Jesus taught in John 4:32-34:
He said to them, "I have food to eat of which
you do not know."
Therefore the disciples said to one
another, "Has anyone brought Him anything to eat?"
Jesus said to them, "My food is to
do the Will of Him who sent Me, and to finish His work.
When we do our Master’s work, He will
sustain us. Jesus walked in a place where He did not even need natural food and
He came to show us how we too can live. Even if it comes to the place where we
cannot eat without taking the mark of the beast, then we can count on Him to
either provide for us or sustain us without natural provision.
We should resolve, like Daniel’s three friends who
would not bow to worship the golden statue of Nebuchadnezzar, that the Lord can
deliver us from anything. Even if He chooses not to deliver us, we will not
worship anyone but Him.
Being
a disciple of Christ is not an easy life, but it is the path to the best, most
fulfilling life we can live. This is a life of
maturing in Christ by “growing up in all things into Him” (see Ephesians 4:15).
After salvation, if we go on to become a disciple, we will discern the calling
of the bondservant. Those who are faithful servants can be elevated to being
friends of God. The faithful friends can be elevated to being sons and
daughters of God—eternal members of His own household.
