The
Powers of The Age to Come
Part
One
Christ gave the power
for healing and miracles to the Church, but at present the Church is not fully
working in “the anointing”.
In the days of the apostles and prophets in the New
Testament, they operated in greater anointing than the Church does today. For
instance: the Church today is not ready to confront a world-wide problem such
as COVID-19.
Why
is this so?
Because “the Body of Christ” today, is yet to reach
the maturity of Unity in CHRIST JESUS.
Behold, how good and
how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!
It is like the
precious ointment upon the head, that ran down upon the beard, even Aaron's
beard: that went down to the skirts of his garments (Psa. 133:1-2 KJV).
GOD’s
anointing flows from “the head”—which is CHRIST
JESUS and flows down to “the body”—the
Church.
Therefore, if “the body” is not truly united, then,
the Church cannot fully function in ‘the anointing’.
“The
Early Church” ‘had all things in common’—“they were of one heart and one soul”.
And the multitude of
them that believed were of one heart and of one soul: neither said any of them
that ought of the things which he possessed was his own; but they had all
things common (Acts 4:32 KJV).
Now, see this: the result of their unity and
voluntary service to GOD’s work resulted in what we read in the following
verses:
And with great power
gave the apostles witness of the resurrection of The Lord Jesus: and great
grace was upon them all.
Neither was there any
among them that lacked: for as many as were possessors of lands or houses sold
them, and brought the prices of the things that were sold,
And laid them down at
the apostles' feet: and distribution was made unto every man according as he
had need.
And Joses, who by the
apostles was surnamed Barnabas, (which is, being interpreted, The son of
consolation,) a Levite, and of the country of Cyprus,
Having land, sold it,
and brought the money, and laid it at the apostles' feet (Acts 4:33-37 KJV)
With “great
power” the apostles gave witness to the
Resurrection of The Lord Jesus.
And “great
grace” was upon them all.
“The
Church” must attain Unity
in CHRIST, and must be truly United
with Him as His mystical body.
When this happens, then ‘the Church’ can receive “the powers of the age to come”.
When ‘the Church’ receives “the powers of the age to
come”, then, ‘the Church’ will radically fulfill “the Great Commission”.
Now, know this: great problems that beset the world
today, such as COVID-19 and even other greater problems, challenges and
persecutions inadvertently helps the Church to ‘wake-up’ and ‘stand-up’ for
righteousness and for the truth.
“The Church” today has the mandate to
witness for Jesus “to the end of the
earth”.
“The Early Church” bore witness of Jesus in Jerusalem, in all Judea
and Samaria.
But, we as
believers are given the mandate to preach “the
Gospel of the Kingdom” in all the
world as a witness to all the nations.
And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world
for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come (Matt 24:14 KJV).
The Church will only fulfill this “Great Commission” when she receives “the powers of the age to come”.
But ye shall receive power, after that The Holy Ghost is come upon
you: and ye shall be witnesses unto Me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea,
and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth (Acts 1:8 KJV).
When “the Church” attains Unity in CHRIST JESUS, just as the
apostles ‘were all with one accord’ at Pentecost, then, ‘the Church’ will
receive “the powers of the age to come”—like
the rush of a mighty wind, and holy fire mixed with blood and oil from The Holy Spirit.
Then, “the
Church” will do “greater works”.
Hallelujah!
