Mediator and Righteous
Judge
Human judges are indeed privileged
to represent and decree GOD's Will for man on the earth; in small matters.
But, the great matters can only be taken
care of by THE ALMIGHTY GOD.
"And
let them judge the people at all seasons: and it shall be, that every great
matter they shall bring unto thee, but every small matter they shall judge: so
shall it be easier for thyself, and they shall bear the burden with thee" (Ex 18:22 KJV).
Regarding the administration of
justice for the children of Israel after they came out of Egypt, The LORD GOD
commanded Moses:
“You are
to appoint judges and officers for all your gates [in the cities] Adonai your
God is giving you, tribe by tribe; and they are to judge the people with
righteous judgment” (Deut. 16:18 CJB).
Job said there is no arbitrator
between God and man.
In chapter 9 verse 24 he said:
"When
a land falls into the hands of the wicked,
He
blindfolds its judges.
If it is
not He, then who is it? (NIV)
Someone had to come as a “mediator” on our behalf.
According to Galatians 3:20 a
mediator does not represent "just one party."
In First Timothy 2:5 we are
informed: "For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men,
the man Christ Jesus...” (KJV)
And, Hebrews 9:15 declares:
“And for
this cause He is the Mediator of the New Testament, that by means of death, for
the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they
which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance” (KJV)
"And
I will restore thy judges as at the first, and thy counsellors as at the
beginning: afterward thou shalt be called, The city of righteousness, the faithful
city (Isaiah 1:26 KJV).
