Jehovah Rapha
The Lord my Healer

And the people murmured against Moses, saying,
What shall we drink?
And he cried unto the Lord; and the Lord shewed him a tree, which when he had cast into the waters, the waters were made sweet: there He made for them a statute and an ordinance, and there he proved them,
And said, If thou wilt diligently hearken to the Voice of the Lord thy God, and wilt do that which is right in His sight, and wilt give ear to His Commandments, and keep all His statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I Am The Lord That Healeth Thee.
Exodus 15:24-26 KJV

Moses led the people of Israel on from the Red Sea, and they moved out into the wilderness of Shur and were there three days without water v.22. Arriving at Marah, they couldn't drink the water because it was bitter (that is why the place was called Marah, meaning "bitter") v.23.
And the people murmured against Moses, saying, What shall we drink? (v.24).
Then Moses cried out to the Lord, and the Lord showed him a piece of wood. He threw it into the water, and the water became sweet v.25.
That day, the Lord made a statute and an ordinance for the people of Israel:
There the Lord made a decree and a law for them, and there He tested them. He said, "If you listen carefully to the Voice of the Lord your God and do what is right in His eyes, if you pay attention to His Commands and keep all His decrees, I will not bring on you any of the diseases I brought on the Egyptians, for I am the Lord, Who heals you."
Verses 25b-26 NIV

GOD is the great Physician. Good health and divine healing comes from Him, and He is the Giver of Life. He determines the length of our days on earth; He keeps and restores His people. His Name is “Yahweh Rapha.”

Sickness is part of the curse of sin, but, Jesus has lifted the curse for the believers through His atonement for sin. The wounds and bruises Christ suffered paid the price for sin. He became our Savior; yet, His suffering did more than just pay for sin: it established and authenticated Jesus as our Healer!
Read Isaiah 53:5; I Peter 2:24.
He is JEHOVAH RAPHA [also known as Jehovah Rophi].

The Israelites camped around the waters of Marah—they camped around “waters of bitterness.” The waters of Marah were bitter; whoever tastes it suffers illness, disease, and mental anquish. Like Wormwood [Rev.8:11], the waters from this spring kills.
But, The LORD made the waters sweet, for them, and brought them to Elim, where there were twelve springs and seventy palm trees, and they camped there near the water (v.27).

The consequences of disobedience to GOD’s Word, spelled out to the Israelites in Deuteronomy 28 were the plagues of Egypt, sicknesses, diseases, and nature disasters.
Why would a nation that GOD had Covenant with, suffer plagues, prolonged and harsh disasters, today?
Here is the cause:
If thou wilt not observe to do all the Words of this Law that are written in this Book, that thou mayest fear this glorious and fearful Name, THE Lord THY God;
Deut 28:58 KJV

But, to those who are willing to be obedient to the LORD, to trust Him, and reverence His NAME. He says:
“…if My people who are called by My Name humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from Heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.”
2 Chron 7:14 RSV

Worship the Lord your God, and His blessing will be on your food and water. I will take away sickness from among you, and none will miscarry or be barren in your land. I will give you a full life span.
Ex 23:25-26 NIV

As we grow older, our natural bodies begin to wear out and deteriorate. Man without Christ is never entirely free from the natural effect of sin; which are the consequences of “the fall of man.” But God doesn’t desire that we spend our later years bedridden and ineffective. He wants to keep us active and productive.
Jesus died so we could be made whole.

Our privilege, our blessing, and our hope for wholeness and wellness are in Jesus.
