“The Church Age”
And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with
one accord in one place.
And suddenly there came a sound from Heaven as of a rushing
mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.
And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and
it sat upon each of them.
And they were all filled with The Holy Ghost, and began to speak
with other tongues, as The Spirit gave them utterance.
Acts 2:1-4 KJV
“The Church Age” began after “The Ascension of
Christ”— at “The Coming of The Holy Spirit” at Pentecost.
That was the birth of “the True Church” of Jesus
Christ on earth.
Before Jesus’ Ascension to Heaven, He commissioned His
disciples, and promised them: the baptism and Power of The Holy Spirit.
“For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with The
Holy Ghost not many days hence” (Acts 1:5 KJV).
“But ye shall receive Power, after that The Holy Ghost is come upon
you: and ye shall be witnesses unto Me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea,
and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth” (Acts 1:8 KJV).
The first ‘Descent of The Holy Spirit’ was in Acts
chapter 2 (A.D. 33). Within a period of two years (A.D. 33 to 35) the disciples
bore witness to Jesus Christ in Jerusalem. They witnessed of Him in Judea and
Samaria as the Church grew and expanded for a period of 13 years (A.D. 35 to
48).
And, since then, “The Gospel of The Kingdom of God”
has been preached through the timeline of Apostle Paul’s Three Journeys and his
trials in 14 years (A.D. 48 to 62) —as well as through other apostles, prophets
and saints — as it is to this day, reaching nations and continents, and
going-on to “the uttermost part of the earth” (to the end of the earth).
“The Church Age” will come to a close in the ‘blessed
and holy’ “First Resurrection” (read Rev. 20:6).
