Persevering
Prayer and God’s Word
By Benny Hinn
“Blessed are those who
keep His testimonies, who seek Him with the whole heart!”
— Psalm 119:2
Prayer has the power to fill our hearts with God’s Word.
The psalmist wrote:
Your word I have
hidden in my heart, that I might not sin against You. Blessed are You, O Lord!
Teach me Your statutes. With my lips, I have declared All the judgments of Your
mouth. Open my eyes, that I may see wondrous things from Your law.” (Psalm
119:11-13, 18)
Only
prayer will cause your eyes to be opened.
Only then can you cry out:
Oh, how I love your
instructions! I think about them all day long. Your commands make me wiser than
my enemies, for they are my constant guide. Yes, I have more insight than my
teachers, for I am always thinking of your laws. I am even wiser than my
elders, for I have kept your commandments. (Psalm 119:97-100, NLT)
Through prayer,
love is born for the Word of God. Divine love for the Word
of God is the result of persevering prayer.
Guard against
anything that would keep you from God’s Presence, for nothing
else is more important than spending time with Him. Take time to get alone with God in
prayer, to meditate on His Word, to adore and love Him, to be quiet and listen.
A
Prayer for Today
Father, I long for You. I desire to have
my life filled with Your Word.
I seek to meditate on Your Word
throughout the day.
I treasure Your Word, and I ask for a
fresh Revelation of Your Word every day as I spend time studying your statutes.
Open my eyes. Fill my heart with Your Wisdom
and Insight.
Most of all, I ask You to fill me with
Your Love and Your Peace that passes all understanding.
I pray all this in the Name that is
above all names, Jesus, Amen.
