The
fifth level of prayer is INTERCESSION.
Jesus
said The Spirit would reveal things to us. When we invite The Spirit to help us
pray, He does not focus on our selfish needs and wants. He can sometimes place
the names and faces of people before us that we had not thought of in years. In
such a case, we are to intercede for them.
But
don’t think that it is a period of joy and ease. Just the opposite. If you ask
people in this ministry about the first time they moved into intercession, they
will tell you, ‘they weren’t truly sure they wanted it’.
When
there is error in your communion with The Lord in intercessory, the closeness
leaves; and only pain and agony is felt, which is difficult to put into words.
In
certain cases, intercessory ministers pounded the floor with every ounce of
strength as they prayed for families, friends, the Church and for nations.
Be
warned that it is impossible to move into intercession with a snap of the
finger. It does not come instantly because it is a partnership with God that
requires a deep and intensely personal relationship. You see, The Holy Spirit
leads your prayer life step by step. It takes time to walk into the very depths
of prayer.
