Throughout the
Scriptures as in reality in life, we discover that The LORD has AWESOME
ATTRIBUTES & MAJESTIC PERSONALITY.
Immortal God
In the beginning You laid the foundations of the earth,
and the heavens are the work of your hands.
They will perish, but You remain;
they will all wear out like a garment.
Like clothing You will change them
and they will be discarded.
But You remain the same,
and Your years will never end.
Psalm 102:25-27 NIV
Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and
forever. His years are throughout all generations, and cannot end.
The heavens and the earth passes away.
He said:
Heaven and earth will pass away,
but My Words will never pass away.
Matt 24:35 NIV
The entire cosmos with its versed beauty, planets,
satellites, elements and dark space will pass away; likewise the firmament and
the whole earth.
The immortality of The divine Creator is spoken of
in several passages of the Scriptures. It is GOD's sole prerogative to be
immortal and unchangeable. GOD made the world, which though is passing away
presently; but He Himself is from eternity to eternity.
The SON Of GOD, The Eternal WORD, made the world. It
is expressly said, “All things were made by Him, and without Him was not anything
made that was made; and therefore the same was in the beginning from eternity
with GOD, and was GOD” (John 1:3). The FATHER made the entire universe through
Him (Heb. 1:2); He created all things, seen and unseen (Col 1:16).
He is eternal, immortal, and invisible (see I Tim
1:17; 6:16). He is the Source, not only of all being, but of all power and
dominion.
The day is coming when the earth and all the works
that are therein shall be burnt up; and then what will become of those that have
laid up their treasures in it? Heaven [the firmament with all its expanse] and the
earth shall wax old as a garment—presently by a gradual decay the world passes
away, and when the set time comes, they shall be laid aside like an old garment
that we have no more occasion for; as a vesture they shall be changed, but there
shall be new heaven and a new earth. A total proof of GOD's sovereign dominion
over the heavens and the earth.
CHRIST JESUS is the same forever, subject to no
change; and His years have no end. He, today, is the same in Performance as He
was in the Promise.
He is the same to His Church—His Bride, in
affliction and at liberty. GOD is ever-living, and in CHRIST we have
everlasting consolation.
