Jehovah Shammah
The Lord is Present
It was round about eighteen thousand measures: and the name of
the city from that day shall be, The Lord is there.
Ezekiel 48:35 KJV
This phrase expresses the truth that
"The-LORD-Is-There," referring to the city which the prophet Ezekiel
saw in his vision.
“The Promised Land” which the people of Israel
inherited, was developed, and apportioned to the tribes according to the
pattern of the New Jerusalem which is above.
It had a great, high wall with twelve gates, and with twelve
angels at the gates. On the gates were written the names of the twelve tribes
of Israel. There were three gates on the east, three on the north, three on the
south and three on the west.
Rev 21:12-13 NIV
The city was laid out like a square, as long as it was wide. He
measured the city with the rod and found it to be 12,000 stadia in length, and
as wide and high as it is long.
Verse 16 NIV
There the happiness of the glorified saints is made
to be that GOD Himself shall be with them (Rev 21:3) that He Who sits on the Throne
shall dwell among them (Rev 7:15).
The bliss of this Holy City is that ‘The LORD Is
There’.
‘The LORD Is There’; where the Gospel is faithfully
preached where His ordinances are duly administered, and where GOD is truly
worshipped in the Name of Jesus Christ.
Jesus said to His disciples:
“…Lo, I am with you always even unto
the end of the world” (see Matt 28:20).
“The LORD Is There” in His Church, to rule and
govern it, to protect and defend it, and graciously to accept and own His sincere
worshippers, and to be near unto them in all that they call upon Him for.
“The LORD Is There” in the lives of His true
Christians who live by the principle of His Grace.
GOD alone is Omni-Present.
GOD is ‘SPIRIT.’
The LORD is ‘THE SPIRIT.’
GOD is Omni-present.
And ‘THE SPIRIT’ is ‘THE LORD’ Who is eternally
present.
Now The Lord is that Spirit: and where The Spirit of The Lord
is, there is Liberty.
2 Cor 3:17 KJV
He is “The Spirit Of The Presence of GOD.”
JESUS is glorified in the Presence of ‘THE FATHER’ with
"the divine Eternal Glory" by ‘THE SPIRIT.’
And now, O Father, glorify Thou Me with Thine own self with the
Glory which I had with Thee before the world was.
John 17:5 KJV
NIV puts it this way:
And now, Father, glorify Me in Your Presence with the Glory I
had with You before the world began.
It is The Holy Spirit that glorifies Jesus Christ.
To understand this, you need to read it from the King James Version.
The Goodness of The LORD comes to us in His
Presence. In His Presence there is fullness of Joy and Eternal Pleasures (Psa.
16:11).
In His Presence we are strong, and established (Psa.
102:28), for He is able to keep us from falling (stumbling and falling away)
and to present us faultless, sinless, and perfect [unblemished
and blameless] before His glorious Presence without fault and with exceeding
joy; triumphant joy and exultation [with unspeakable, ecstatic delight] (read
Jude 24).
Wisdom rejoices in His Presence (Prov.8:30), but the
arrogant cannot stand in His Presence (Psa.5:5)
THE LORD is JEHOVAH SHAMMAH!
