The Gifts Of The Holy Spirit: The Gift Of Faith

The Gifts Of The Holy Spirit

The Gift Of Faith
Ability to Believe God for The Impossible

This is special faith by The Spirit—wonder-working faith.
Our values are measured individually by “the measure of faith” each one of us possesses. This is the degree of faith apportioned by God to each believer which is received at conversion and develops as we hear and receive and meditate upon God's Word. The Bible declares concerning “the measure of faith”:
So then faith cometh by hearing,
and hearing by The Word Of God.
Rom 10:17 KJV
Faith to the new convert comes by hearing ‘what is told’, and ‘what is heard’ comes by the preaching of the Message that comes from the Mouth of God. So then, faith comes by hearing the Message of the Cross, and the Message comes through preaching Christ—The Messiah.

Romans 12:3 talks about “the measure of faith”, but that is not what I am talking about now. The topic of discussion at this moment under “The Gifts Of The Spirit” is “The Gift Of Faith”. This is one of the gifts of The Holy Spirit to the Church.

This gift was mentioned in Romans 4; as Abraham who was the founder of the Jewish nation in the sight of God, trusted God with all his heart — “The God Who gives life to the dead and calls things that are not as though they were”.
Abraham believed in (trusted in) God,
and it was credited to his account as righteousness
(right living and right standing with God).
Romans 4:3 AMP [See also Gen. 15:6]

We are made right with God by placing our faith in Jesus Christ. And this is true for everyone who believes, no matter who we are.

Let’s take a closer look at the Biblical account of Abraham’s faith in God:
Against all hope, Abraham in hope believed and so became the father of many nations, just as it had been said to him,
"So shall your offspring be." Without weakening in his faith, he faced the fact that his body was as good as dead — since he was about a hundred years old — and that Sarah's womb was also dead. Yet he did not waver through unbelief regarding the promise of God, but was strengthened in his faith and gave glory to God, being fully persuaded that God had Power to do what He had promised.
Rom 4:18-22 NIV

Can you comprehend what that means?
Though human reason for hope being gone, Abraham hoped in faith that he should become the father of many nations, as he had been promised by God.

The Lord’s Promise to him states thus:
“…so numberless shall your descendants be (Gen 15:5).

Abraham did not weaken in faith when he considered the impotence of his own body, which was as good as dead because he was about a hundred years old.  And, even though he considered the barrenness of Sarah his wife, he believed that God would restore her deadened womb [read Genesis 17:17; 18:11].

That’s the gift of faith in operation!

The gift of faith brings into operation God’s miraculous Power.
It’s a gift for a reason and for a season.
The gift of faith operates when the anointing is full and strong.

In Luke 8, Jesus rebuked the raging storm and it subsided.
That’s the gift of faith!

No unbelief or distrust made Abraham waver.
No doubting question!
But he grew strong and was empowered by faith, fully satisfied and assured that God was able and mighty to keep His Word and to do what He had promised.
The Gift Of Faith is indeed the ability to believe God for the impossible.
This gift manifests when the Presence of God is strong.
It is sometimes released as a result of unity in the body of Christ.
When the gift of faith comes, that’s when people can walk in the miraculous.
