The Everlasting God
The Eternal God
Genesis 21:33
At the treaty at Beersheba, when Abraham made a covenant
with Abimelech, he planted a tamarisk tree in Beersheba, and there he called
upon The Name Of The LORD, The Everlasting GOD.
And Abraham planted a grove in Beer-sheba, and called there on
The Name Of The LORD, the everlasting GOD.
Gen 21:33 KJV
Abraham found the neighborhood to be good, and he
planted a groove there, but GOD would have him, while he lived, to be a
stranger and a pilgrim, yet he sojourned many days, as many as would consist
with his character.
There he made, not only a constant practice, but an open
profession, of his faith in GOD: There he called on The Name Of The LORD, the
everlasting GOD. Probably the grove he planted, became his house of prayer. Christ prayed in a garden, on a mountain.
Abraham worshipped GOD publicly. Note, the righteous
should not only retain their faith wherever they go, but also do all they can
to propagate it, and help others exercise faith to The LORD.
In calling upon The LORD, we must see Him with “the
eyes of faith” as THE EVERLASTING—The ETERNAL GOD.
GOD made Himself known to Abraham as his GOD; and He
made a Covenant particularly with him.
Abraham forgets not to give glory to The LORD of
all: The Everlasting GOD, Who was, before all worlds, and Who will be, when
time and days shall be no more.
Do you not know?
Have you not heard?
The Lord is the everlasting God,
the Creator of the ends of the earth.
He will not grow tired or weary,
and His understanding no one can
fathom.
He gives strength to the weary
and increases the power of the weak.
Even youths grow tired and weary,
and young men stumble and fall;
but those who hope in The Lord
will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles;
they will run and not grow weary,
they will walk and not be faint.

40:28-31 NIV
