The spirit
of rebellion
People who are in witchcraft, divination, sorcery,
magic, and spell-casting, operate under the spirit of rebellion.
For rebellion is as
the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry.
1 Sam 15:23a KJV
In this evil domain, rebellion is one level,
witchcraft is another level, and idolatry is yet another level. This evil
spirit rules over insurgents and rebels who agitate or revolt against spiritual
or political authorities. It rules over magicians, enchanters and people in
witchcraft; as well as people who are in all manner of idolatry—including
worship or reverence of graven images, hero worship, and obsession.
Rebellion began with Lucifer and his fallen angels
in Heaven, when he plotted to overthrow GOD
You were anointed as a
guardian cherub, for so I ordained you.
You were on the holy Mount
of God; you walked among the fiery stones. You were blameless in your ways from
the day you were created till wickedness was found in you. Through your
widespread trade you were filled with violence, and you sinned.
So I drove you in
disgrace from the Mount of God,
and I expelled you, O
guardian cherub, from among the fiery stones. Your heart became proud on
account of your beauty,
and you corrupted your
wisdom because of your splendor.
So I threw you to the
earth; I made a spectacle of you before kings. By your many sins and dishonest
trade you have desecrated your sanctuaries. So I made a fire come out from you,
and it consumed you, and I reduced you to ashes on the ground in the sight of
all who were watching.
Ezek 28:14-18 NIV
When this took place, then, there was war in
Heaven—Lucifer who was “a guardian cherub” was cast out of Heaven with his
fallen angels, down to the earth:
And there was war in Heaven.
Michael and his angels fought against the dragon, and the dragon and his angels
fought back. But he was not strong enough, and they lost their place in Heaven.
The great dragon was hurled down — that ancient serpent called the devil, or satan,
who leads the whole world astray. He was hurled to the earth, and his angels
with him.
Rev 12:7-9 NIV
Once again, the dragon came as “the crafty serpent” in
the garden, deceived the woman, and taught her rebellion.
Now the serpent was
more subtil than any beast of the field which The Lord God had made. And he
said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the
garden?
And the woman said
unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden:
But of the fruit of
the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat
of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die.
And the serpent said
unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die:
For God doth know that
in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as
gods, knowing good and evil.
And when the woman saw
that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a
tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did
eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.

That was “the fall of man.” And, when satan saw that
his deception led to ‘the Fall,’ he took the right to ‘the Dominion’ that was
given to man and planted his ‘seed of wickedness and rebellion’—the ‘seed of
the serpent’ in the world, which became Cain (see I John 3:12). Shortly after
this, the devil corrupted the whole world with iniquity and rebellion and
became ‘prince of the power of the air.’
The people of Israel often angered GOD by their
rebellion; they were influenced or controlled by the spirit of rebellion
against GOD:
Many times He
delivered them,
but they were bent on
rebellion
and they wasted away
in their sin.
Ps 106:43 NIV
Prophet Jeremiah prophesied to Hananiah the false
prophet, that GOD would remove him from the face of the earth because he taught
the people the ways of rebellion, and in the seventh month of the same year he
died (Jer. 28:1-17).
According to Daniel’s vision of “the little horn” an
host [GOD’s people] was given to the wicked horn [the antichrist] together with
the daily sacrifice [the continual burnt offering] because of rebellion—the
transgression of GOD's people — their abounding irreverence, and ungodliness.
And righteousness and truth were cast down to the ground, [the little horn] the
antichrist accomplished this by divine permission and prospered.
Read Daniel 8:12.
This will take place for 2,300 evenings and mornings
(verse 13-14). But first, the great rebellion—the apostasy would occur; the
predicted great falling away of those who have professed to be Christians, and
the man of rebellion (sin) would be revealed (2 Thess. 2:3).
Here is another verse of Scripture that confirms
this:
He will speak against
the Most High and oppress His saints and try to change the set times and the
laws. The saints will be handed over to him for a time, times and half a time.

So many entertainers of today—many musicians, many
actors and actresses, many performers, many sports people, and many
celebrities, are ruled, manipulated or controlled by the spirit of rebellion.
"The Jezebel spirit" operates under this
domain, and is associated with idolatry and religion (read I Kgs.16:31; 19:1-2;
21:25-26; II Kgs. 9:22). “The spirit of Jezebel” operates in many churches,
today, through false prophets and false ministers, teaching immorality and
idolatry to GOD’s people.
Nevertheless, I have
this against you: You tolerate that woman Jezebel, who calls herself a
prophetess. By her teaching she misleads my servants into sexual immorality and
the eating of food sacrificed to idols. I have given her time to repent of her
immorality, but she is unwilling. So I will cast her on a bed of suffering, and
I will make those who commit adultery with her suffer intensely, unless they
repent of her ways. I will strike her children dead. Then all the churches will
know that I am he who searches hearts and minds, and I will repay each of you
according to your deeds.
Rev 2:20-23 NIV
People who are controlled by “the Jezebel spirit”
usually operate in “the mystery of iniquity,” ‘diabolical mystery,’ and satanic
delusions [“deep-secrets of satan”] (see verse 24).
The demon of rebellion is the representative of
satan—the master of rebellion himself.
How to
overcome the spirit of rebellion
To be totally free from the spirit of rebellion, we
must be sanctified by The Holy Spirit so that we can be obedient to Christ.
Then, we can be filled with The Spirit so that we can live a Spirit-filled
life.
If you belong to Christ, GOD The Father chose you
long ago and knew you would become His child. And His Spirit has been at work
in your heart, cleansing you with the Blood of Jesus Christ and helping you to
please Him (read 1 Peter 1:2).
While Jesus lived on earth, He prayed to The Father
and asked Him for help. He prayed with loud cries and tears to The One Who
could save Him from death, and His prayer was heard because He trusted GOD.
Even though Jesus was The Son of GOD, He learned obedience by what He suffered.
And because His obedience was perfect, He was able to give eternal Salvation to
all who obey Him. In this way GOD The Father made His Son Christ Jesus, a High
Priest, a Priest in the order of Melchizedek (read Heb 5:7-10).
By His obedience we have been constituted Righteous—
made acceptable to GOD, and brought into right standing with Him:
For just as through
the disobedience of the one man the many were made sinners, so also through the
obedience of the One man the many will be made Righteous.

You have to realize that every man has been given
the chance to choose his own master.
You have to choose your own master!
You can choose sin (with death) or else obedience to
GOD (with acquittal). The one to whom you offer yourself-he will take you and
be your master, and you will be his slave.
Know ye not, that to
whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey;
whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?

Of those who have chosen The Holy One-The LORD Jesus
Christ as their Master, GOD’s Word says:
Thank God that though
you once chose to be slaves of sin, now you have obeyed with all your heart the
teaching to which God has committed you. And now you are free from your old
master, sin; and you have become slaves to your new master, Righteousness.
Rom 6:17-18 TLB
They are now free from their old master, sin; they
are now servants of The King Of Righteousness.
But as of those who have chosen to be slaves of
sin—and ruled by satan-the master of sin, the Bible says:
If you do what is
right, will you not be accepted? But if you do not do what is right, sin is
crouching at your door; it desires to have you, but you must master it."
Gen 4:7 NIV
If you refuse to obey, watch out!
Because sin is waiting to attack you, longing to
destroy you. But you can conquer it!" (read Gen.4:7).
The ‘rebellious spirit’ makes people prideful—what
makes the wicked happy is sin—and this is abomination in the sight of The LORD
(read Prov. 21:4).
The Righteousness of GOD has brought us into right
standing with Him, but sin is a reproach (read Prov. 14:34), therefore, sin
shall not be your master! (see Rom. 6:14); because those who are slaves to sin
cannot be governed by Righteousness (v.20). Any one born of GOD cannot continue
to sin (see I John 5:18). The Gift for being a servant of Righteousness is
eternal Life (v.22).
For the wages of sin
is death; but the Gift of God is eternal Life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

When we are completely obedient to Christ, then we
will be made ready to punish every act of disobedience (see 2 Cor.10:6). If we
truly obey The LORD, and devout our lives to Him, then we will receive the
Power to punish every act of rebellion.
So, how can we achieve this?
Be excellent at what is good, be innocent of evil;
and The GOD of Peace will soon crush satan under your feet (see Romans
16:19-20).
The Church is the Bride of Christ, and when she
becomes completely submitted and obedient to Him, she will be fully secured and
made ready to punish every insubordination.
The Church has already been given the divine
authority to cast down imaginations, and every high thing that exalts itself
against the knowledge of GOD, but to effectively bring into captivity every
thought to the obedience of Christ, GOD’s people must be completely submitted
and obedient to CHRIST.
