UNMASKING THE BEAST
The Antichrist
Part 11
Things the Antichrist will Do
that will Mark his Characteristics
ELEVEN
Armed
forces of the antichrist shall rise up to desecrate the temple [in the holy
land] and they shall pollute the sanctuary, the [spiritual] stronghold, and
shall take away the continual [daily burnt offering]. Then they will set up the
abomination of desolation.
"His armed forces
will rise up to desecrate the temple fortress and will abolish the daily
sacrifice. Then they will set up the abomination that causes desolation.
Dan 11:31NIV
Armed forces of the antichrist shall appear [in the
holy land]—that’s Israel, and they shall pollute ‘the sanctuary of strength’
(ref. KJV). He shall take away the continual daily burnt offering; shall set up
in the sanctuary the abomination that astonishes [“that maketh desolate” (KJV)].
In verse16, “the antichrist” is referred to as “the
invader” who will do as he pleases. It goes further to say: “…no one will be
able to stand against him. He will establish himself in the Beautiful Land and
will have the power to destroy it.
The “Beautiful Land” is Israel.
“The antichrist” will set himself in the temple of
GOD, and declare to the world that he is God.
He will oppose and
will exalt himself over everything that is called God or is worshiped, so that
he sets himself up in God's temple, proclaiming himself to be God.
2 Thess 2:4 NIV
This the Bible calls: “the abomination of
desolation.” The climax of “the mystery of iniquity.”
Revelation 13 reveals that “the false prophet of the
antichrist” will set up “the image of the beast” on his behalf, and with this
he will deceive multitudes in the earth.
Because of the signs
he was given power to do on behalf of the first beast, he deceived the
inhabitants of the earth. He ordered them to set up an image in honor of the
beast who was wounded by the sword and yet lived.
Rev 13:14 NIV
“The deeds of the Nicolaitans” were of persons who
pretended zeal for Christ, but really opposed Him.
Pride, ambition, and worldly interest of
church-pastors and church-rulers, as in Diotrephes and others, were the early
working of “the mystery of iniquity,” which, by degrees, came to that
prodigious height which has been visible in “the church of Rome.”
Diotrephes opposed John's ministry (see 3 John
9-11).
By flatteries [smooth words] “the antichrist” will
turn to godlessness those who act wickedly toward the covenant. But the people
who know THE LORD GOD ALMIGHTY will stand their ground; they will stand firm,
and resist him. They shall do exploits.
And such as do
wickedly against the covenant shall he corrupt by flatteries: but the people
that do know their God shall be strong, and do exploits.
Dan 11:32 KJV
