What
Happens When You Do Not Pray
Prayerlessness
brings no direction; it brings no counsel.
Lo, their good is not in their hand: the counsel of the
wicked is far from Me.
Job 21:16KJV
God Almighty
stands aloof from the counsel of the wicked. The plans of the wicked are far
from Him.
Prayerlessness
brings confusion.
Prayerlessness
brings no light.
“How oft is the candle of the wicked put out!...” (v.17a
KJV).
Their lamp
is snuffed out.
It brings no
protection.
“…and how oft cometh their destruction upon them! God
distributeth sorrows in his anger (v.17b KJV).
Calamity,
pains and sorrow suddenly comes upon the man who is prayer-less.
Prayerlessness
brings no preservation.
They are as stubble before the wind, and as chaff that the
storm carrieth away.
Job 21:18 KJV
The soul of
the prayer-less man lacks divine support; his life lacks maintenance because
God withdraws His Grace from Him.
The
prayer-less man cannot be safe because, God withdraws His divine Defense and
Protection from him. The tempest and the storm steals them away.
Prayerlessness
results in no forgiveness.
God layeth up his iniquity for his children: He rewardeth
him, and he shall know it.
Job 21:19 KJV
The penalty
for a man’s life of prayerlessness is stored up for his children.
Prayerlessness
brings no mercy.
His eyes shall see his destruction, and he shall drink of
the Wrath of the Almighty.
Job 21:20 KJV
Prayerlessness
brings judgment.
The eyes of
the man whose heart is not devoted to the Lord will see his own destruction.
Prayerlessness
brings no blessings on tomorrow.
For what pleasure hath he in his house after him, when the
number of his months is cut off in the midst?
Job 21:21 KJV
There is no
future blessing for the prayer-less man; his home becomes desolate; he finds no
joy.
What
Happens When You Pray
No demonic
power can find the man who prays. When you find God's Presence, the devil
cannot find you.
There is a path which no fowl knoweth, and which the
vulture's eye hath not seen:
The lion's whelps have not trodden it, nor the fierce lion
passed by it.
Job 28:7-8 KJV
When you
pray, God makes a way for you where there is no way.
He putteth forth his hand upon the rock; he overturneth the
mountains by the roots.
Job 28:9 KJV
Just as man's
hand assaults the flinty rock and lays bare the roots of the mountains, so all
obstacles are removed for the man who seeks the Lord; God removes road-blocks.
God brings
His Presence into your situation.
“He cutteth out rivers among the
rocks…” (v.10a KJV).
He opens
your eyes and you begin to see things you never saw before.
“…and his eye seeth every precious thing” (v.10b KJV).
When the
enemy comes like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord will raise up a standard. He
binds the flood from overflowing.
He bindeth the floods from overflowing; and the thing that
is hid bringeth he forth to light (v.11 KJV).
The Lord
will reveal secret things to you.
If you pray,
bad and negative dreams stop.
If you don't
pray, you cannot stop it.
If you see
evil, hide yourself in prayer. The ‘simple’ (prayer-less man) passes on not
doing anything about it, and is punished (suffers for it).
A prudent man foreseeth the evil, and hideth himself; but
the simple pass on, and are punished.
Prov 27:12 KJV
When you see
something good, pray for its fulfillment.
Why?
Because
prayer fulfills prophecy.
Prophecy
cannot be fulfilled until we pray.
Prophet
Daniel read the prophecies of Jeremiah, and in Babylon he prayed until God
fulfilled His Purpose for the children of Israel.
Prophecy has
to do three things or it’s not from God:
Prophecy is
for edification, exhortation, and comfort.
Any prophecy
without these three things, reject it with your own words.
No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and
every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This
is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is of Me,
saith the Lord.
Isa 54:17 KJV
God likes to
hide!
He hides
Himself that we might seek Him.
And seeking
Him kills the flesh.
Verily Thou art a God that hidest Thyself, O God of Israel,
the Saviour.
Isa 45:15 KJV
The greatest
thing we can do as Christians is to pray. In Jeremiah 33:3 God says:
Call unto Me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great
and mighty things, which thou knowest not (KJV).
When you
pray, God begins to reveal things to you.
You can't
see what God has for you until you begin to pray.
Why would
God talk to you if you are not talking to Him?
