The Spirit of Christ
But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that
the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ,
he is none of His.
Rom 8:9 KJV
New International Version puts this verse like this:
You, however, are controlled not by the sinful nature but by the
Spirit, if the Spirit of God lives in you. And if anyone does not have the
Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Christ.
The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of Christ.
You live in the Spirit if He dwells in you.
You live the Life of the Spirit if He is indwelling
in you—you do not identify with your old nature but with the Spirit.
He is the Spirit of God Who leads the sons of God.
For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons
of God (Rom 8:14 KJV).
If anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he
does not belong to Christ.
The “flesh” is sinful nature, but abiding in the
Spirit is Life.
The Spirit of Christ testified beforehand the
sufferings of Christ, and the Glory that would follow (I Pet 1:11). He is
"the Power of the Highest" that overshadowed Mary, and conceived the
Son of God in her womb (Lk.1:35; Mt.1:18, 20).
He anointed Jesus for good works for His Ministry on
Earth.
How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with
Power: Who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the
devil; for God was with Him (Acts 10:38 KJV).
Jesus baptizes with the Holy Spirit and with fire (Matt.3:11).
The Spirit of Christ gives the Power to witness for
Jesus, even to the uttermost part of the Earth.
But ye shall receive Power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon
you: and ye shall be witnesses unto Me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea,
and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the Earth (Acts 1:8 KJV).
He is the Counselor sent by the Father to teach us
all things (Jn. 14:26).
