Sheep & Wolves
God sends out His prophets, apostles, and ministers
to the world "as sheep in the midst of wolves" (Matt. 10:16).
Also, God’s people are aware that satan sends out
his false prophets, false teachers and false ministers "as wolves in sheep
clothing."
Our Lord Jesus taught that false prophets come in
"sheep clothing."
“Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing,
but inwardly they are ravening wolves” (Matt 7:15 KJV).
This reveals that "the antichrist" and his
false prophet will appear on the world scene in "sheep clothing," but
ultimately are ‘ravenous beasts.’
In verses 16 to 18 Jesus said:
“Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns,
or figs of thistles?
Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt
tree bringeth forth evil fruit.
A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt
tree bring forth good fruit” (KJV).
The practice of everyone who does not operate in
agreement with the Will of God is iniquity and lawlessness (v.23).
A disciple will be like his teacher, and a servant
like his master (Matt. 10:25).
We are to shine as lights in this world of crooked
and perverse generation. Therefore be “wise as serpents and harmless as
doves" (Matt. 10:16).
