Part 27

The War In Heaven

And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels,

And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven.

And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the Earth, and his angels were cast out with him.

And I heard a loud Voice saying in Heaven, Now is come Salvation, and Strength, and the Kingdom of our God, and the Power of His Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night.

And they overcame him by the Blood of the Lamb, and by the Word of their Testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.

Therefore rejoice, ye Heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the Earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time.

Rev 12:7-12 KJV

This was “the War in Heaven” (second heaven; the universe). Arch-Angel Michael and his angels went forth to battle with the dragon, and his army, which occupied “the second heaven.”

Satan and his principalities and powers occupied “the second heaven,” then he was “the prince of the power of the air.”

The great dragon—serpent of old—the devil—satan which deceives the whole world was cast out, he was cast out with his fallen angels into the Earth.

They prevailed not, neither was their place found any more in heaven (second heaven).

Note that a third of the angels in Heaven are under Michael’s command, a third under Arch-Angel Gabriel, but a third of the angels were part of Lucifer’s rebellion—they became the fallen angels.

Satan was cast out with his fallen angels, out of ‘the heavenlies’ in the Church Age. This is why verse 9 uses the phrase: “who leads the whole world astray” (NIV) even as it is evident today that billions of the world’s population have fallen under Satan’s influence, manipulation and control. 

From time of old, Lucifer who has fallen, was known to become “the great dragon”—in the Garden he was identified as “the serpent of old,” and throughout the Scriptures in the Church Age he is called Satan; the devil.

When the hour for Jesus to be glorified was at hand, He said:

Now is the judgment of this world: now shall the prince of this world be cast out.

And I, if I be lifted up from the Earth, will draw all men unto Me (John 12:31-32 KJV).

Great crisis is soon to come upon the world as Judgment. And as long as the Son of Man was lifted up on the Cross from the Earth, the prince of darkness—evil genius has been cast out of the heavenlies (the dark space).

“NOW” is come SALVATION, and STRENGTH, and THE KINGDOM OF OUR GOD, and THE POWER OF HIS CHRIST!

Satan and his fallen angels were cast out of “the second heaven” so that the way into “the Third Heaven” will be prepared—for the glorious appearing of our LORD and SAVIOR JESUS CHRIST at the Rapture.

And I heard a loud Voice saying in Heaven, Now is come Salvation, and Strength, and the Kingdom of our God, and the Power of His Christ: (Rev 12:10 KJV).

This Voice says in the concluding part of same verse: “for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night (KJV).

Satan is “the accuser of the brethren” who accuses them before GOD day and night—he accuses them in the Church Age.

Throughout the ages, since man was placed on the Earth, satan ‘the old serpent’ has been in his business of “deceiving the whole world”, and accusing the brethren [the saints] before GOD. The devil kept bringing before GOD charges against us day and night.

We overcome him by THE BLOOD OF THE LAMB, and by THE WORD OF OUR TESTIMONY—and by sharing in the fellowship of CHRIST’S SUFFERING, even unto DEATH BY HIS CROSS and RESURRECTION BY THE HOLY GHOST.

And they overcame him by the Blood of the Lamb, and by the Word of their Testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death (v.11 KJV).

The saints of all times overcome “the accuser of the brethren” by the BLOOD of the LAMB, and by the WORD of their TESTIMONY. ‘The word of our testimony’ is the WORD of GOD.

The faithful believers in this world do not love and cling to life even when faced with death, but lay down their lives for Jesus Christ.

The ‘tribulation saints’ in the Great Tribulation "who love not their lives unto the death"—who die for their witnessing for Jesus Christ; and for the Word of God, shall emerge victorious over Satan and his ‘beast.’

Therefore rejoice, ye Heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the Earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time (v.12 KJV).

At this point, Heaven—the abode of GOD ALMIGHTY; the home of the entire celestial hosts rejoices in the triumph over “the prince of darkness” for the length of years in the Church Age.

Great unfortunate happenings now occurs in the world because the devil has fallen to the Earth filled with fury (great wrath), because he knows that his time is short.

Satan now knows that his time to lead the inhabitant of the world astray has been limited to the 7 years tribulation.

Because the dragon has been cast out of “the second heaven,” he can no longer device his delusion and deception on the saints at the degree he used to. When he occupied “the second heaven” with his army, then, he was “prince of the power of the air,” but now satan is no longer “prince of the air.” The dragon and his fallen angels have been hurled down to the Earth and the seas.
