BEHOLD THE LAMB
Pastor Benny Hinn
Christ, who could have called all of Heaven’s angels
to wage war on the Roman soldiers, instead went to Calvary voluntarily. He
chose to die as a substitute for you and me. He shed His precious blood for us.
Jesus told us candidly: “Even as the Son of Man came not to be ministered unto, but
to minister, and to give His life a ransom for many” (Matthew 20:28).
When Jesus shed His blood on the cross of Calvary,
He sacrificed Himself “once for all.” He
came to die to take away your sin and mine. He erases all our sins, blots out
all guilt, offers ultimate victory over death.
The Lord endured the passion on Calvary’s cross to
provide each of us with an Eternal Promise. All we have to do is accept Him: “For God so
Loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth
in Him should not perish, but have Everlasting Life” (John 3:16).
He is the blessed Christ of the cross, and what an
eternal difference He has already made in the life of every believer. Because
of what He did on the cross, we can rejoice as we sing:
On a hill far
away stood an old rugged cross,
The emblem of
suff’ring and shame;
And I love
that old cross where the dearest and best
For a world of
lost sinners was slain.
So I’ll
cherish the old rugged cross,
Till my
trophies at last I lay down.
I will cling
to the old rugged cross,
and exchange
it some day for a crown.
