The Eternal Father, Son, And Spirit

The Eternal Father, Son, And Spirit

GOD is eternal Spirit, with non-material form, but He often reveals Himself through human form and other human traits.

GOD THE FATHER
What was the appearance of GOD THE FATHER?
Like that of a man.
When Ezekiel had his vision of God in 593 B.C., he described Him as seated above an expanse that separated creatures from the Glory of The Lord.
Above the expanse over their heads was what looked like a throne of sapphire, and high above on the throne was a figure like that of a man. I saw that from what appeared to be His waist up He looked like glowing metal, as if full of fire, and that from there down He looked like fire; and brilliant light surrounded Him. Like the appearance of a rainbow in the clouds on a rainy day, so was the radiance around Him.
This was the appearance of the likeness of the Glory of The Lord. When I saw it, I fell facedown, and I heard the Voice of One speaking.
Ezek 1:26-28 NIV

The Apostle John in Revelation described Him as the reflected brilliance of precious stones.
At once I was in The Spirit, and there before me was a throne in Heaven with someone sitting on it. And the One who sat there had the appearance of jasper and carnelian. A rainbow, resembling an emerald, encircled the throne.
Rev 4:2-3 NIV
Here John talked of The Father, not The Son.

The prophets describe the features of GOD THE FATHER in amazing details:
His lips, His tongue, His breath.
Behold, The Name of The Lord cometh from far, burning with His anger, and the burden thereof is heavy: His lips are full of indignation, and His tongue as a devouring fire:
And His breath, as an overflowing stream, shall reach to the midst of the neck, to sift the nations with the sieve of vanity: and there shall be a bridle in the jaws of the people, causing them to err.
Isa 30:27-28 KJV

His speech, His eyes.
I also will choose their delusions, and will bring their fears upon them; because when I called, none did answer; when I spake, they did not hear: but they did evil before mine eyes, and chose that in which I delighted not.
Isa 66:4 KJV

His finger.
When The Lord finished speaking to Moses on Mount Sinai, He gave him the two tablets of the Testimony, the tablets of stone inscribed by the finger of God.
Ex 31:18 NIV

His face.
But," He said, "you cannot see My face, for no one may see Me and live."
Ex 33:20 NIV

His hand, His back.
When My Glory passes by, I will put you in a cleft in the rock and cover you with My hand until I have passed by. Then I will remove My hand and you will see My back; but My face must not be seen."
Ex 33:22-23 NIV

His footsteps.
Then the man and his wife heard the sound of The Lord God as He was walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and they hid from The Lord God among the trees of the garden.
Gen 3:8 NIV

Also, GOD THE FATHER has a heart.
The Lord was grieved that He had made man on the earth, and His heart was filled with pain.
Gen 6:6 NIV

GOD THE SON
Before The Lord Jesus came to earth, He with GOD THE FATHER had only an immaterial form. His earthly body of flesh and blood, and bone was given Him when He was born as a babe in Bethlehem. And, like you, He grew to be a man. We can identify with Christ because He took the form of a human being. In fact, if you do not believe that Christ lived, died, and rose from the dead, then, it is impossible for you to be a Christian. It is the foundation that makes possible your salvation.
The Bible makes it clear that Jesus—part of The GodHead—has a soul.
"My soul is overwhelmed with sorrow to the point of death," he said to them. "Stay here and keep watch."
Mark 14:34 NIV
Christ was a Nazarite, from a city where the men customarily wore long hair.
Today, Jesus Christ—GOD THE SON in His resurrected body sits at the right hand of GOD THE FATHER. And what does He look like?
I turned around to see the Voice that was speaking to me. And when I turned I saw seven golden lampstands, and among the lampstands was someone "like a Son of Man," dressed in a robe reaching down to His feet and with a golden sash around His chest. His head and hair were white like wool, as white as snow, and His eyes were like blazing fire. His feet were like bronze glowing in a furnace, and His voice was like the sound of rushing waters.
Rev 1:12-15 NIV

His face was like the sun shining in all its brilliance.
Rev 1:16b NIV

I looked, and there before me was a white cloud, and seated on the cloud was one "like a Son of Man" with a crown of gold on His head and a sharp sickle in His hand.
Rev 14:14 NIV

Also, we read of His thigh
On His robe and on His thigh He has this name written:
KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.
Rev 19:16 NIV

The Son of Man has a glorified human body, which is distinct from the divine form of GOD THE FATHER.

GOD THE HOLY SPIRIT
What about The Holy Spirit?
Does He also have a mind, will, and emotions?
Does He have a body?
He certainly does.
The Mind of GOD THE HOLY SPIRIT is distinct from that of GOD THE FATHER and GOD THE SON.
And He that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the Mind of The Spirit, because He maketh intercession for the saints according to the Will of God.
Rom 8:27 KJV

He also has emotions. He has deep feelings that allow Him to grieve and to Love.
And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.
Eph 4:30 KJV

His heart can be touched, and has the capacity to express Love.
He makes His own decisions—He certainly can, but His decisions are always in harmony with GOD THE FATHER and GOD THE SON, just as we see in the giving of the gifts of The Spirit
But all these worketh that One and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as He Will.
1 Cor 12:11 KJV

As a child of God, you need to talk with The Holy Spirit every passing day.
Every great revival was accompanied by a revelation of The Holy Spirit. Even Martin Luther credits the great Reformation to the work of The Spirit. He said that Galatians was his favorite book in the Scripture because of the verse that says, "walk in The Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh"(5:16).

Do you have a personal hunger to know The Holy Spirit?
You can be filled with The Spirit and have an undeniable encounter with Him, but a deep understanding of The Holy Ghost does not come overnight. For me it has taken years and years of His leading and revelation in Scripture. And I am still learning every day.

The Holy Spirit is a Person just like GOD THE FATHER and GOD THE SON, and He can be quenched. The word means to put out.
Quench not The Spirit.
1 Thess 5:19 KJV
You also need to realize that The Holy Spirit can be vexed.

But they rebelled, and vexed His Holy Spirit: therefore He was turned to be their enemy, and He fought against them.
Isa 63:10 KJV
If you happen to vex Him, you may feel His Presence withdrawing.
The Holy Spirit is a Lover. If you resist Him, He will just leave. If you resist or quench Him, He will leave with a wounded heart.
Today, while He is still longing for our love and fellowship, we wound Him through our ignorance and rebellion.

Repent today, from all means of rebellion and disobedience towards Him. Pray to Him, right now, He is listening!
Ask Him to give you the Grace and Strength to serve Him.
Ask Him to put in you the fear of The Lord and the humility of Jesus.
