THE BOOK OF REVELATION
Part 33
The Harvest Judgment
~ ~ ~
And I looked, and behold a white cloud, and upon the cloud One
sat like unto the Son of Man, having on His head a golden crown, and in His
hand a sharp sickle.
And another angel came out of the Temple, crying with a loud
voice to Him that sat on the cloud, Thrust in Thy sickle, and reap: for the
time is come for Thee to reap; for the harvest of the Earth is ripe.
And He that sat on the cloud thrust in His sickle on the Earth;
and the Earth was reaped.
And another angel came out of the Temple which is in Heaven, he
also having a sharp sickle.
And another angel came out from the Altar, which had power over
fire; and cried with a loud cry to him that had the sharp sickle, saying,
Thrust in thy sharp sickle, and gather the clusters of the vine of the Earth;
for her grapes are fully ripe.
And the angel thrust in his sickle into the Earth, and gathered
the vine of the Earth, and cast it into the great winepress of the Wrath of
God.
And the winepress was trodden without the city, and blood came
out of the winepress, even unto the horse bridles, by the space of a thousand
and six hundred furlongs.
Rev 14:14-20 KJV
The Son of Man in His Glory occasionally comes with
the cloud in the sky; when this occurs it is connected to a special event. He
comes with “the clouds of Glory.”
Previously, the First Angel’s Announcement was:
"Fear God and give Him Glory, because
the hour of his Judgment has come…” (v.7 NIV).
The second said,
"Fallen! Fallen is Babylon the Great,
which made all the nations drink the maddening wine of her adulteries" (v.8
NIV)
And the third said:
"If anyone worships the beast and his
image and receives his mark on the forehead or on the hand, he, too, will drink
of the wine of God's Fury…” (vv.9-10 NIV).
Now, The Son of Man sits as Judge upon the cloud. He
comes to judge “Mystery Babylon”; He comes to judge the nations that drank of
the wine of Babylon’s sins and impurities; and He comes to bring Judgment upon
the inhabitants of the Earth who worship “the beast” and received his mark.
In verse 15, an angel came out of the Heavenly
Temple and said to Him Who sat on the cloud:
"Take
your sickle and reap, because the time to reap has come, for the harvest of the
Earth is ripe" (NIV).
And in next verse, He Who was seated on the cloud
swung His sickle over the Earth, and the Earth was harvested.
Another angel came out of the Temple in Heaven, and
he too had a sharp sickle (verse 17).
Yet, a third angel—this one came out of ‘the Altar
in Heaven’ having power over the fire; He called in a loud voice:
"Take your sharp sickle and gather the
clusters of grapes from the Earth's vine, because its grapes are ripe" (verse
18 NIV).
And then, the angel that came out of the Temple thrust
his sickle into the Earth, and gathered the vine of the Earth, and cast it into
the great winepress of the Wrath of God (verse 19).
Verse 20 says:
They were trampled in the winepress outside the city, and blood
flowed out of the press, rising as high as the horses' bridles for a distance
of 1,600 stadia (NIV).
Prophet Joel prophesied of God’s Judgment against
the enemy nations.
Put ye in the sickle, for the harvest is ripe: come, get you
down; for the press is full, the fats overflow; for their wickedness is great (Joel
3:13 KJV).
Who is the “One like unto The Son of Man”?
And Who is He that will ‘tread the winepress of the
Wrath of God’?
He is JESUS CHRIST—He treads the winepress of the
Fierceness and Wrath of ALMIGHTY GOD.
A “sickle” is a tool for cutting grass: a
short-handled implement with a curved blade used for cutting tall grass or
grain.
Jesus’ sickle has the cutting mechanism of a combine
harvester, reaper and mower—it reaps and threshes. His sickle is for “The
Harvest Judgment.”
And, when He comes to serve the Wrath of God
Almighty to the nations of the Earth, His angels will come with Him; they will
be His convoy for the execution of God’s divine Judgment upon the Earth.
