The Fifth Vial

The Fifth Vial
Darkness and Pain
And the fifth angel poured out his vial upon the seat of the beast; and his kingdom was full of darkness; and they gnawed their tongues for pain,
And blasphemed the God of Heaven because of their pains and their sores, and repented not of their deeds.
Rev 16:10-11 KJV
The fifth angel of God’s Wrath pours out his vial upon the seat of “the beast”; and his kingdom was full of darkness.
After God said to Moses: “Yet will I bring one more plague upon Pharaoh, and upon Egypt; afterwards he will let you go…” (Ex.11:1); He struck dead all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, from the firstborn of Pharaoh that sat upon his throne, even to the firstborn of the maidservant that was behind the mill; and all the firstborn of beasts (Read Exodus 11).
But, just before that last plague upon Egypt, God caused a thick darkness in all the land of Egypt for three days; they were unable to see each other, and so not even one of them was able to rise from his place. But all the children of Israel had light in their dwellings (ch.10:21-23).
Pharaoh and the people of Egypt felt a great darkness—a soul-strickening darkness was felt over the land of Egypt.

The residents of the beast’s kingdom will be in such intense pain of pitch darkness that they will literally chew on their tongues in an effort to draw attention away from the overwhelming pain.

And yet, even in this state, they don’t repent; instead, they blaspheme God again—they’re in effect cursing Him for being Just!
