Time
Has Been Shortened!
Time Has Been Shortened!
One important thing to remember is that our
remaining time on Earth is very short and so are our opportunities for doing
the Lord's work.
But this I say, brethren, the time has been
shortened, so that from now on those who have wives should be as though they
had none; and those who weep, as though they did not weep; and those who
rejoice, as though they did not rejoice; and those who buy, as though they did
not possess; and those who use the world, as though they did not make full use
of it; for the form of this world is passing away.
1 Cor. 7:29-31 NASU
On one account; time is short!
Since the beginning of creation, the appointed time
for everything under the sun has been winding down and it has now grown very
short!
This world in its present form is passing away! The
present scheme of things in this world won’t last much longer!
Revelation 12 reveals that satan is filled with
fury, because he knows that his time is short" (v.12 NIV).
This was recorded for these last days!
Satan’s time is what the Bible refers to as “the
Tribulation” which has been cut short to 7 years period.
If those days had not been cut short, no one
would survive, but for the sake of the Elect those days will be shortened.
Matt 24:22 NIV
For the sake of the Elect whom God has chosen, He
has shortened the time of the Tribulation. The tribulation is a 3 ½ years of
the Antichrist’s false peace and security [minor tribulation], and a three and
half years of the Great Tribulation [the time of the greatest distress in the
world]—the time of the reign of “the beast.”
If the Lord had not cut short those days, no one
would survive.
On a second account; time has been shortened!
For, the author of the epistle to the saints in
Corinth states in First Corinthians 7:
“From now on those who have wives should live
as if they had none…” (v. 29).
“And they that weep, as though they wept not;
and they that rejoice, as though they rejoiced not; and they that buy, as
though they possessed not…” (v.30 KJV).
Happiness or sadness or wealth should not keep
anyone from doing God's work.
