THE BOOK OF REVELATION
Part 3
The Revelation Of Jesus Christ
~
~ ~
There is truly “the suffering” and “patience” and “endurance”
that are ours in Christ Jesus (Read Rev.1:9)
2 Tim 2:12-13 says,
“…if we endure, we will also reign with Him.
If we disown Him, He will also disown us;
if we are faithless, He will remain faithful,
for He cannot disown Himself (NIV).
At the Island of Patmos, when John turned around to
see the Voice that spoke to him sounding like the trumpet, first, he saw 7 golden
lampstands, [Hebrews: gold menorahs]. Among the “menorahs” was someone “like a
Son of Man,” wearing a robe down to his feet and a gold band around his
chest.
In Exodus 25, GOD told Moses to make this seven
lampstands (or candle sticks) with pure golden wick trimmers and trays. Moses
made the lampstands and all its accessories with a talent of pure gold (over 60
pounds). He made them according to the pattern The LORD showed him on the
mountain.
The Kingship and Lordship of our LORD JESUS CHRIST
is usually revealed to us in Scripture and by divine Revelation with the color
of “gold” (see Rev.1:12-13; 2:1). Gold usually speaks of the divine nature
because it does not tarnish.
Copper speaks of the human nature because it has a
likeness to gold but easily corrodes.
Silver usually speaks of redemption.
The color blue speaks of the realm of The Spirit
because it is the color of the sky or what is referred to as “the heavens.”
Red of speaks of sacrifice because it is the color
of blood.
Purple is the royal color, or color of authority,
because it is a combination of blue and red, and spiritual authority is based
upon both divine revelation and sacrifice. We see the meaning of these symbols
clearly established in the tabernacle of Moses.
Jesus Christ is The One Who holds “the seven stars”
in His right hand and walks among “the seven golden lampstands” (Rev. 2:1).
John’s description of the resurrected Christ reveals
to us that, even as He appeared to him “dressed in a robe reaching down to His
feet and with a golden sash around His chest, His head and hair were white like
wool, as white as snow, and His eyes like blazing fire, and feet like bronze
glowing in a furnace, and His Voice like the sound of rushing waters (Rev 1:12-16).
Prophet Daniel saw The LORD with same divine
description, and he stated of Him that, His body was like chrysolite [like
beryl], His face like the appearance of lightning, His eyes like flaming
torches, His arms and legs like the gleam of burnished bronze, and His Voice
like the sound of a multitude (Dan 10:6).
Furthermore, in verse 9, he recorded that, His
clothing was as white as snow; the hair of His head white like wool. And that
His throne was flaming with fire, and its wheels were all ablaze.
Again, in Revelation 19, John stated more clearly,
the Power and Glory of Jesus’ Voice:
“Then I heard what sounded like a great multitude, like the roar
of rushing waters and like loud peals of thunder…”
NIV
Prophet Ezekiel stated that, the sound of the
cherubims’ wings were like “the sound of the Voice of The Almighty” (Ezk.
1:24). The description of the Glorious One; “a figure like that of a man” which
he stated in the concluding verses is that of GOD THE FATHER:
Above the expanse over their heads was what looked like a throne
of sapphire, and high above on the throne was a figure like that of a man. I
saw that from what appeared to be His waist up He looked like glowing metal, as
if full of fire, and that from there down He looked like fire; and brilliant
light surrounded Him. Like the appearance of a rainbow in the clouds on a rainy
day, so was the radiance around Him.
Ezek 1:26-28a NIV
Ezekiel also heard “the Voice of JESUS.”
Read verse 28b of same chapter, in which the prophet
narrates with the words:
“…and I heard the Voice
of One speaking. (NIV)
And He said:
"Son of man, stand
up on your feet and I will speak to you." (2:1 NIV)
In verse 2, of chapter 2, Ezekiel narrates that The
Holy Spirit came into him, and raised him up, and he heard Him speaking…
When the cherubims moved, Ezekiel heard the sound of
their wings like “the Voice of GOD.”
But, when they stood still, he heard “the Voice of
THE FATHER,” “the Voice of THE SON,” and “the Voice of THE SPIRIT.”
Remember that John heard “the Voice of the
resurrected CHRIST” sounding like a trumpet, in Revelation 1:10
In chapter 4, verse 1, he heard the same Voice say
to him:
"Come up here, and I will show you what must take place
after this" (4:4b NIV).
John also encountered a revelation of GOD THE
FATHER:
At once I was in The Spirit, and there before me was a throne in
Heaven with someone sitting on it.
And The One Who sat there had the appearance of jasper and
carnelian. A rainbow, resembling an emerald, encircled the throne.
Rev 4:2-4 NIV
