The Feast Of Pentecost

“The Feast Of Pentecost”

"'From the day after the Sabbath, the day you brought the sheaf of the wave offering, count off seven full weeks. Count off fifty days up to the day after the seventh Sabbath, and then present an offering of new grain to The Lord.
Lev 23:15-16 NIV

“The Feast Of Pentecost”, or “The Feast Of Weeks”, as it is called in Deuteronomy 16:9, because it was observed fifty days, or seven weeks, after “The Passover”, is also called “The Feast Of Harvest” (see Ex 23:16).

From the 16th of the 1st month to the 6th of the 3rd month. These seven weeks, called Sabbaths, were to be complete, i.e., the 49 days must be finished, and the next day, the 50th is what is called “Pentecost”.

In Hebrew, this “feast” is called The festival of Shavu‘ot

Seven weeks after Jesus' death and resurrection, “The Descent of The Spirit” took place at “Pentecost” (on a “Day Of Pentecost”).
The Holy Spirit was given to the early Church, and even this present moment, He is still with us on the earth.

And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.
And suddenly there came a sound from Heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.
And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.
And they were all filled with The Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as The Spirit gave them utterance.
Acts 2:1-4 KJV

The Coming Of The Holy Spirit upon the believers waiting on The LORD in “the Upper Room”, was like the roar of a violent wind, and they were all filled with The Holy Ghost.

Note, that, first, “they were all with one accord in one place” and then, the sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from Heaven and filled the whole house, and there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire (like flames or tongues of fire) which were separated and distributed and which settled on each one of them. Immediately, everyone present was filled with The Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues (they spoke languages they didn't know) for The Holy Spirit gave them this ability (The Spirit gave them clear and loud expression in each tongue in appropriate words).
They were all filled with The Ruach HaKodesh and began to talk in different languages, as The Spirit enabled them to speak.
The divine purpose of “the Pentecost” was fulfilled in “The Descent Of The Holy Spirit.”
